Gen Z invade the Office of Mohamed Ali, MP Nyali for voting YES

NYALI: Today, Gen Z protestors in Mombasa visited the office of Mohamed Ali, the Member of Parliament for Nyali, demanding answers regarding his vote in favor of the Finance Bill 2024.

Ali, a prominent leader from the coastal region, was among those who supported the bill, which has faced strong opposition from the youth.

In defiance of the blazing sun, the young men and women gathered at the entrance of Ali’s office, chanting slogans to express their dissatisfaction.

A heavy police presence was deployed to prevent any potential clashes with the demonstrators.

Issa Abbas, a resident of Nyali, criticized Ali for disregarding advice from youths who had contacted him the day before the vote.

“We want to understand why Mheshimiwa chose to vote for the bill despite our pleas. I personally called him and when he didn’t answer, I sent a text explaining why he should oppose the bill. He let us down,” Abbas expressed in an interview with Kondele News.

“This isn’t what we elected him to do in parliament. It shows he doesn’t prioritize the desires of Nyali’s people, and as voters, we will make our voices heard at the polls,” Abbas added firmly.
