Police in Suna East Sub-County are searching for a 25-year-old man accused of murdering his 19-year-old wife in Kadika Village, Ngege Sub-Location.
The tragic incident is believed to stem from alleged marital disputes.
According to Suna East Sub-County Police Commander Mr. Reuben Kemboi, the victim, identified as Akoth Onyango, was found dead with injuries around her neck, suggesting she was strangled. Her body was discovered in a bush a few kilometers from their home.
Commander Kemboi stated that the motive behind the killing has not yet been determined and assured that police are actively investigating the case.
The suspect’s brother, Mr. Elvis Omondi, reported that his brother had called the family early yesterday morning to confess to killing his wife, whom they had been married to for about six months.
Omondi added that the suspect informed the family of the location where he had disposed of the body and also threatened to commit suicide, indicating he would reveal the location of his own body afterward.
According to Omondi, the deceased and the suspect had left home for a walk on the evening of July 24, 2024, and had not returned. The police are continuing their efforts to apprehend the suspect and resolve the case.
