Police in Rarieda sub-county are investigating the death of a man found inside a house.
The deceased, identified as 65-year-old Silvanus Achar, worked as a caretaker for a home belonging to Elizabeth Abala, who resides in the USA.
According to a police incident report seen by Kondele News, neighbors became concerned after Achar failed to take the animals out for grazing as he usually did.
“Kenya Police Service and DCI officers visited the scene and found the body of the deceased lying on the bed, on his left side, inside the house. The house had been locked from the inside but was forced open. Beside the body on the bed was a packet of Brufen tablets, with only two tablets remaining,” the report read.
Additionally, the police discovered a jiko (charcoal stove) believed to have been lit by the deceased.
“The body was discovered today after the deceased failed to open the gate and take the animals out for grazing as usual. The deceased had been living alone in the house. The scene was processed accordingly, and the body, which had no visible physical injuries, was removed to Lwak Mission Hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem,” the report further indicated.
