I killed him; Woman Surrenders to Police After Fatal Stabbing in Kerwa Town

Residents of Kerwa Town are in shock following a tragic incident where a woman turned herself in to the police after allegedly stabbing a man to death.

The suspect, identified as Grace Kamenju Wacheke, reported to Kerwa Police Station after the fatal encounter.

According to the police report, Wacheke claimed that the deceased had forcefully broken into her home. She admitted to stabbing the man in self-defense.

“Grace Kamenju Wacheke, a resident of Kerwa Town, reported that she had stabbed a man using a knife at her residence after he unlawfully entered her house without permission,” stated the incident report.

Officers from Kerwa Police Station, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and crime scene personnel responded to the scene.

They identified the deceased as 29-year-old Peter Kiguae Gachunga, whose body was found lying at the doorway with a stab wound to the chest.

A bloodstained kitchen knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered and secured as evidence.

The scene was processed and secured by National Police Service (NPS) officers. The body of the deceased was transported to Tigoni Hospital Morgue, where an autopsy will be conducted as investigations continue.
