Erick Omondi Builds House for Assault Victim Faith Kathambi Through ‘Sisi Kwa Sisi’ Initiative

Celebrated comedian Erick Omondi, through his “Sisi Kwa Sisi” initiative, has successfully rallied public support to build a home for Faith Kathambi, a woman whose brutal assault video went viral last week.

Kathambi, a mother of three, was attacked by her neighbor in Kisii County for allegedly stealing a 2kg packet of wheat flour—an accusation she denies.

According to Kathambi, her neighbor took advantage of her vulnerable state to assault her.

The disturbing video, which shows the man dragging Kathambi, pushing her to the ground, and then assaulting her with blows and kicks, sparked widespread outrage, with many people, including Kisii Woman Representative Doris Donya, voicing their condemnation.

A report by Citizen TV confirmed that the assailant is currently in police custody.

Moved by the incident, Erick Omondi took up the cause, calling on the public to contribute resources to help Kathambi.

Together, they bought land and began building a home for her. On his Facebook page, Omondi shared an uplifting update:

“God will use your lowest moment to lift you up. Just last week, this woman was shamefully paraded, beaten, and cast out. Today, she owns land and a house. I call it ‘The House on the Hill’ because it symbolizes her upliftment,” Omondi wrote.

The house, which is nearing completion, is now only awaiting roofing and a few finishing touches. Omondi praised the supporters of “Sisi Kwa Sisi” for their generosity, saying, “TEAM SISI KWA SISI, YOU’VE DONE IT AGAIN AND GOD IS HAPPY. We bought land in a beautiful space in Nairobi, and the house is nearly done—just the roof and some final touches left!”
