Second carjacking suspect in Makindu arrested by police

Detectives at Makindu Police Station have arrested Stephen Kioko, the second suspect linked to the highway motor vehicle theft that occurred on July 13, 2025, along the Mombasa–Nairobi highway.

Kioko’s arrest follows the earlier apprehension of his accomplice, Musyoki Mutava, and the recovery of the stolen Subaru Trezia in Ukia, Makueni Sub-County.

The investigative trail led detectives to Kioko, who is believed to have played a key role in coordinating the attack and getaway.

He is now in custody, undergoing processing to enjoin his case with that of Mutava, who is currently before the court.
