Police probing murder of a construction worker in Isiolo

GARBATULA: Detectives are probing the killing of a man in Isiolo county by unknown assailants on August 9.

The unfortunate incident occurred in Kina, Garbatula, Isiolo County, 53-year-old construction worker Erick Mutembei Njagi was gunned down inside his home by four motorcycle-riding assailants.

Police say the armed gang stormed the Madoyaka area residence early Saturday morning, demanding money from Njagi before shooting him multiple times in the chest.

According to witnesses, the attackers, who were also wielding a hammer, fled the scene on motorcycles after the killing.

Several people who were inside the house at the time managed to escape unhurt. No arrests have been made, and police have moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
