Suspected Drug Trafficker Arrested in Kiambaa with 800 Rolls of Cannabis

KIAMBA: Police in Tigoni have arrested a suspected drug trafficker found in possession of 800 rolls of cannabis during an intelligence-led operation in Karambaini Tea Zone, Kiambaa Sub-County, on August 12, 2025.

The suspect, who was riding a TVS Star motorcycle and posing as a khat transporter, was intercepted and searched.

Officers recovered a woven bag containing the cannabis and KSh 3,795, believed to be proceeds of crime.

Both the suspect and the seized items are being held in police custody pending arraignment.

In a statement, the National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying crackdowns on narcotics, illicit brews, and second-generation alcohol in a bid to protect public health and enhance security.
