Police Arrest Notorious Kiambaa Robbery Suspect, Recover Pistol

KIAMBAA: A 26-year-old suspected robber believed to be behind a string of violent attacks in Rweno and Kiambaa has been arrested in a police raid that also led to the recovery of a firearm.

The suspect, identified as Stephen Igogo Kariuki, was cornered by Kiambaa Sub-County law enforcement officers following a tip-off from members of the public.

Police said Kariuki later led officers to his residence, where a search uncovered a retay falcon pistol, suspected to have been used in multiple robberies.

The weapon has been forwarded to the National Forensic Laboratory for ballistic analysis as part of ongoing investigations.

Kariuki is currently in custody and is expected to be arraigned in court to face robbery charges.
