Four injured in a Siaya-Bondo road accident

SIAYA: Four people, including two children, were critically injured in a horrifying road accident on the Siaya-Bondo highway this evening.

The crash, which occurred near the Achaye Rach area, involved a speeding saloon car that struck a motorcycle carrying a woman and her two children.

The impact sent the car careening off the road, where it rolled multiple times before landing in a ditch.

The four victims from the motorcycle—the rider, a woman, and two children—all sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Siaya County Referral Hospital for emergency treatment.

The driver of the saloon car, identified as an unnamed police officer, also suffered injuries. Bystanders quickly summoned an ambulance, and he was transported to the same hospital.

Authorities suspect the officer may have been intoxicated at the time of the crash, as alcoholic beverages and a firearm were recovered from his vehicle.

Both the damaged motorcycle and the saloon car have been towed to the Siaya Police Station as investigations to determine the cause of the accident get underway.
