ELDORET: Police officers from Eldoret Police Station have arrested two individuals and seized 500 liters of chang’aa following a successful operation on Monday.

The bust, which occurred in the Asis area, was initiated after a tip-off regarding a vehicle suspected of transporting illicit brew.

Led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS), police on patrol intercepted a Toyota Corolla, registration number KAV 131Y.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered 500 liters of chang’aa, which was packaged in both polythene pouches and plastic bottles.

The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested on the spot and are currently being held at Eldoret Police Station.

They are undergoing processing and are expected to be arraigned in court soon.

In a statement, the National Police Service re-affirmed its commitment to intensifying operations against illicit brews and related criminal activities.

The service noted that such crackdowns are essential to safeguarding public health, safety, and well-being.
