The body of 35-year-old Nicholas Otieno, who had tragically hanged himself naked, was discovered only thanks to villagers returning from a night vigil at 3:00 AM.

Had it not been for them, the body would have likely remained hanging until daybreak.

This unfortunate incident, which occurred in the Kadenge sub-location of Siaya sub-county, has left the entire region in shock.

According to the area Assistant Chief, Jacob Ouma, the deceased had quarreled with his mother earlier regarding some cows he intended to take.

The administrator provided details on the dispute:

“What have gathered from the family is that he wanted two cows, however, the mother refused and instead gave him only one. It is then that he went away from their home never to be seen.”

Chief Ouma continued, outlining the timeline of the discovery, “After missing for some time, the family was shocked to be informed that he had been spotted hanging from a tree next to their home at the wee hours of the morning.”
