Tragedy in Gilgil: 20-Year-Old Killed in Dispute Over New Year’s Goat

GilGil: Police in Gilgil, Nakuru County, are investigating a fatal family dispute in Elementaita that left a 20-year-old man dead on Saturday night.

The victim, identified as Sylvanus Ole Lesasuyan, was reportedly stabbed to death following an argument over a goat intended for New Year celebrations.

According to preliminary police reports, the conflict began when the deceased’s elder brother returned home late at night.

Tensions escalated when the elder brother attempted to remove a family goat from its pen to slaughter it for the holiday festivities.

A heated argument followed, which quickly turned violent.

During the confrontation, the younger brother sustained fatal stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
