PS Omollo urges parents to shield youth from political violence, outlines education gains

Internal Security PS Raymond Omollo has called for stronger parental vigilance to protect students from political exploitation and criminal gangs.

Addressing a parents’ gathering at Ober Boys High School, Dr Omollo noted that recent school unrest across Kenya highlights the urgent need for a unified front among parents, teachers, and communities.

Dr Omollo further stated that parents must closely monitor social circles and behavior to stop politicians from turning students into instruments of violence.

“Our young people must never be allowed to become agents of violence or political goons,” Dr Omollo said, adding that youth often bear the brunt of political manipulation.

Drumming support for the President William Ruto-led administration, he note that the government has added 100,000 teachers over three years (with 20,000 more coming this year) and constructed over 23,000 classrooms and 16,000 labs for the CBC rollout.

Beyond schools, local investments include road networks, health facilities, and fish landing sites, currently over 50 ercent complete, to boost the regional blue economy.
