Police officers in Awendo Sub-County have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of the mutilated body of a 50-year-old man dumped in the North Sakwa location.
Confirming the incident, Awendo Sub-County Police Commander (OCPD) Julius Kemboi noted that the victim was last seen carrying out his normal daily routine just a day before his body was discovered.
Detectives are currently tracing his final movements to establish where and how he met his tragic death.
While authorities have successfully established the victim’s identity, OCPD Kemboi deliberately withheld his name from the public for legal and ethical reasons.
He explained that releasing the identity through media outlets before officially notifying the family would be insensitive, as the next of kin may not yet be aware of his passing.
Commander Kemboi promised a thorough investigation and warned that anyone linked to the crime will face the full force of the law.
Detectives are working around the clock to reconstruct the victim’s final hours, and authorities have urged members of the public who may have relevant information or missing person reports to contact the nearest police station to assist with the ongoing case.
