By MONICA NASHON: Police in Migori have arrested three security guards following a break-in at Migori Senior School, where 17 computers and a printer were stolen.
According to a police report, the incident was reported on Sunday, August 16, 2026, by school principal Jared Opondo.
He was alerted by the Head of ICT, Evans Otura, who discovered that unknown intruders had broken into the laboratory.
Officers from Migori Police Station and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Suna East visited and processed the scene. Preliminary investigations show that the suspects gained access to the lab by cutting through a window grill.
The three security guards on duty during the incident, identified as Philip Odhiambo 56, James Odhiambo 60, and George Otieno 42, were taken into custody.
During interrogation, the guards claimed they only learned of the break-in when notified by the principal.
Police have documented the scene and are investigating how the equipment was transported off school grounds, as well as working to identify all perpetrators.
DCI Suna East has taken over the case, and a progress report is expected as the three suspects remain in custody.
