By DAMARIS AWUOR: An intelligence-led operation conducted by National police service officers, has exposed a shop in Nairobi believed to be part of illicit trade of several stolen mobile phones .
Acting on intelligence, Embakasi officers and Central Police Station went for an undercover operation along Munyu Road, where they managed to arrested one suspect suspected to be involved in the illegal trade.
The suspect admitted that he had bought the phone from someone who he’s familiar with though he had already sold it out .
He have also provided the first officers with the crucial leads into the network stolen device.
The search conducted at the shop yielded 12 other mobile phones and six phone batteries, further revealing established trade in stolen mobile devices.
The operation went on with officers uncovering additional suspects identified through the information gathered during the operation.
