Ker Odungi Randa, the Chairman of the Luo Council of Elders, has lauded President William Ruto, describing him as the most impactful president for the Nyanza region compared to his predecessors.
Speaking in Uriri during a public engagement forum, the elder chairman commended President Ruto’s commitment to regional growth following his recent development tour across Nyanza.
“Since Kenyatta, followed by Moi, Kibaki, and Uhuru, Ruto is the best,” Ker Odungi Randa stated, emphasizing the tangible projects initiated under the current administration.
“He has done wonders in the Nyanza region,Kuria, Migori, Kisii, Homa Bay, Kisumu, and Siaya. What he has done for our people speaks for itself.”
While expressing gratitude for the ongoing government initiatives, the elder leader took the opportunity to appeal for greater representation of the Luo community in public appointments.
Highlighting current senior leaders like Raymond Omollo, the Principal Secretary for Internal Security, Randa urged the Head of State to extend more appointments to individuals from the region.
“I am asking him, as an elder of the Luo community, to give us more appointees, including Omollo and others,” he said.
He further called for political unity and harmony across Migori County and the broader Nyanza region,urging Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) to set aside political differences and unite behind leadership focused on regional development.
