Pain as a man dies in a road accident at Akala, Gem sub-county

Tragedy struck at the Akala Hospital area in Gem sub-county when a fatal accident claimed the life of one man.

The victim, identified as John Mark Ochieng Opela, met his untimely demise at the scene of the accident.

Reports indicate that Opela lost control of his Toyota Pote vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and roll several times. Sadly, the severity of the crash led to his immediate death.

According to a police incident report, the vehicle was traveling at an excessive speed, making it difficult for Opela to maintain control.

The tragic outcome serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and the importance of adhering to speed limits for the safety of all road users.

““It happened that the said motor vehicle was being driven from Bondo towards Kisumu general direction, on reaching the location of the accident the deceased driver lost control of the said motor vehicle and veered off the left hand side of the road due to over speeding hence rolled severally and the motor vehicle rested on it’s left side of the body while facing Bondo direction, due to the impact the driver sustained serious head deep cut injuries and died on the spot,” read the incident report.
