The DCI has arrested four individuals in connection with the arson and looting of Chieni Supermarkets in Nyeri and Nanyuki towns.
The arrested individuals are Chris Nduni Wamuhu, 24, Moses Njuguna Gachwe, 30, Charles Kaariri Mumbi, 35, and John Ndirangu Ndiritu, 41.
They were apprehended in possession of various stolen items from the supermarkets.
Wamuhu was found at his rented residence with a Hisense fridge, Uken water dispenser, coffee cups, teaspoons, hotpot dishes, and luminac plates. Njuguna was arrested at a house near Kengels club with 22 pairs of khaki trousers, 9 T-shirts, 24 boxers, and sandals.
Kaariri was in possession of a junior bicycle at the time of his arrest, while Ndirangu had six vacuum flasks, a shopping trolley, an LG fridge, and multiple luminac plates and cups.
These individuals, along with others previously arrested, are believed to have participated in the attacks that included vandalism, arson, and theft at Chieni Supermarkets during recent demonstrations.
The destruction has resulted in nearly 300 youths losing their jobs.
