Confusion and shock swept through Siaya County Referral Mortuary today when mourners discovered a male body dressed in female clothes.

The grieving relatives, who had gathered in large numbers to collect their loved one’s remains for burial, were horrified to find that the body presented to them was not their kin, but a man.

The startling mistake was revealed during the viewing and prayers at the mortuary premises.

“The person dressed and placed in the casket is not our kin,” cried out one mourner, pointing out the glaring presence of a beard on the body in the coffin.

This bizarre incident has set the entire Siaya town abuzz with talk and speculation. “How can a male body be dressed in women’s clothes? Did the bodies get interchanged during the process?” questioned another bewildered relative, clearly distressed by the mix-up.

The mortuary attendant, taken aback by the error, immediately called on the mourners to assist in identifying the correct body.
