The DCI volleyball team delivered a thrilling comeback victory against the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in the quarter-finals of the inaugural Kenya Cup Volleyball Tournament, held yesterday at the Nyayo Indoor Arena.
Despite a shaky start that saw them drop the first set 23–25, the detectives bounced back in style.
Tactical substitutions by Coach Sang in the second set turned the tide, as the DCI squad dominated the remaining sets to clinch the match 3–1.
With the win, DCI advances to the semi-finals slated for July 12, where they will face Kenya Pipeline Company — in a highly anticipated rematch of the Kenya Volleyball Federation League finals.
Coach Sang and his team are now back to the drawing board as they prepare for a shot at redemption and a place in the final.
