Police in Oyugis Town have punctured local drug traffickers following a successful raid on Wednesday.
Officers from the Oyugis Police Station, acting on an ongoing crackdown, arrested three young men aged between 23 and 25 after discovering over 200 large rolls of cannabis in their possession.
When officers searched the suspects’ residence, they uncovered a haul of items suggesting a wider range of illegal activities.
Among the seized goods were 11 mobile phones, three laptops, a tablet, and a weighing machine.
Perhaps most concerning was the discovery of a blue Honda motorbike with its number plates missing and a police smock jacket.
These items, along with the electronics, have been kept as evidence as police investigate whether the group was involved in other crimes beyond drug peddling.
Authorities emphasized that these arrests are part of a larger mission to protect the youth in the area. They noted that the spread of illicit drugs is a major threat to the health and future of the community.
The three suspects are currently in custody and are waiting to be charged in court. Meanwhile, the National Police Service has reassured the public that they remain committed to keeping the streets of Oyugis safe and drug-free.
