Five suspects caught with stolen phones and Kenya Power meters

By OMOLO PAKISTAN: On Tuesday May 26, officers based at the Dandora Police Station arrested five suspects linked to a wave of phone snatching, robberies, and the bizarre theft of utility infrastructure.

Following weeks of heightened surveillance and credible intelligence leads, a team of officers raided a mobile phone repair shop in Dandora Phase III.

Investigators now believe this specific shop wasn’t just fixing electronics, but was actively operating as a primary concealment, alteration, and distribution hub for hot property stolen from unsuspecting members of the public across the estates.

Inside the premises, police uncovered a massive stash of suspected stolen goods, including: 21 Mobile Phones, a diverse collection of various makes and models, believed to have been violently grabbed or snatched from residents.

They also recovered 12 Kenya Power Token Meters which they believe were unlawfully ripped from residential walls, a rising trend that has been plunging local households into sudden darkness.

The five suspects have been processed and placed in police custody.

They are currently awaiting the conclusion of deeper investigations before being officially arraigned in court to face charges.

Nairobi regional security teams have noted that this operation is part of an ongoing, aggressive campaign to systematically dismantle organized criminal networks operating within the city’s residential estates.
