Homicide detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested the prime suspect in connection with the brutal murder of Edgar Mokua, a lecturer at the Technical University of Kenya (TUK).

The academic mysteriously vanished after leaving his residence at Princes Park in Lavington on July 6, 2026, at around 4pm.

After his family’s efforts to trace him failed, they filed a missing person report at the Muthangari Police Station.

Five days after his disappearance, Mokua’s body was traced to the City Mortuary.

Officers from the Kiamumbi Police Station had transferred the body there after recovering it where it had been dumped near Woodcreek Academy.

Due to the complex nature of the case, homicide detectives took over the investigation to reconstruct Mokua’s final hours.

Detectives established that on the evening of his disappearance, Mokua visited the Kettle Club in Lavington, where he spent several hours accompanied by two men and a woman.

The group subsequently moved to the Ibiza Club located inside Lavington Mall.

Mokua’s companions eventually departed the venue, leaving the lecturer behind.

He was never seen alive again until his body was discovered in Kiamumbi.

The prime suspect is currently in police custody, assisting homicide detectives with ongoing inquiries as they work to identify the remaining accomplices and establish the exact motive behind the murder.
