UDA youth leader laud George Ruto over Kisumu All Stars bus donation

By GEOFREY KASERA: United Democratic Alliance (UDA) National Youth Leader and Kisumu Central parliamentary aspirant Cedrick Mike Otieno has lauded George Ruto, son of President William Ruto, following the donation of a team bus to National Super League side Kisumu All Stars FC.

Speaking to Kondele News, Otieno highlighted that the 33-seater bus will resolve long-standing logistical and transport challenges that have historically plagued the lakeside club, particularly during away fixtures.

“This gesture demonstrates the President’s commitment to empowering talented young Kenyans. Sports, as we all know, has transformed and uplifted the lives of countless youths across our nation,” Otieno said.

Rallying youth support ahead of 2027

Capitalizing on the gesture, Otieno urged the youth of Kisumu and the wider Nyanza region to throw their weight behind the current administration as the country approaches the next political cycle.

“The ball is now in our court to support this administration. Young people from Kisumu and the entire region should unite and support President Ruto’s re-election bid,” he added.

The bus presentation followed a regional youth football tournament in Kisumu Central.

Beyond handing over the vehicle on behalf of the Head of State, George Ruto also joined congregants for Sunday service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish in Market Milimani.

The donation comes as a major relief for Kisumu All Stars, popularly known as Otenga, which has faced severe financial strain and travel hurdles in recent seasons.

Local sports stakeholders and club officials noted that securing dedicated transport will drastically lower operational costs, allowing the technical team and players to focus on their performance in the national league.
