Low turnout, unfed crowd, and cow drama: inside Bensouda’s troubled thanksgiving event

Empty plastic chairs stole the spotlight at Kanyadhiang Primary School during a Thanksgiving and Prayer Day hosted by Homa Bay County Woman Representative, Bensouda Osogo.

Despite bringing together political leaders and clergy, the event suffered a strikingly low turnout.

Local residents revealed they deliberately boycotted the function, citing growing frustration over the legislator’s perceived inaccessibility.

To make matters worse, the public fallout from Dr Osogo’s recent clash with Luo Benga star Atommy Sifa, whom she publicly accused of stealing her cow, appeared to weigh heavily on community sentiment.

The drama didn’t end with empty seats, several attendees who were bussed in for the event expressed deep disappointment after waiting hours for promised meals that never materialised, leaving a bitter taste after what was intended to be a day of prayer and celebration.
