The media fraternity is reeling from the loss of one of their own, Shadrack Mitty of Standard Group, who passed away while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi Hospital.
His untimely demise adds to the somber list of journalists mourned this year. Mitty’s departure follows the recent losses that have deeply impacted the media community.
Shadrack Mitty, a seasoned journalist, dedicated his career to covering Education news for the Standard Group. He had served under the leadership of Joe Ageyo during his tenure at Standard Group, before Ageyo’s move to the Nation Media Group.
Reports reveal that Mitty had been battling a blood disease for some time before his passing.
Colleagues remember Mitty as a passionate journalist who found joy in his work.
This loss comes just months after the passing of another respected journalist, Rita Tinina, who served as an editor for the outlet.
In February, the journalism community mourned yet again with the tragic loss of Dickens Wasonga from the Star Newspaper, who died in a fatal road accident in Kisumu.
