Gen Z protestor steals teargas canister from a police officer

A video of a demonstrator gaining attention on social media shows him skillfully pickpocketing a police officer and making off with a teargas canister, sparking excitement online.

The officer, surrounded by protesters, was moving alongside them when the Gen Z protester seized the opportunity to take the canister.

Speculation arose about what the protester intended to do with the teargas canister. This incident follows another viral video showing a protester smoking teargas and exhaling fumes through his nose.

Protests continued in Nairobi despite President Ruto’s announcement that he would not sign the controversial Finance Bill 2024 into law.

Dubbed “#occupytheStateHouse,” today’s protests have spread across various parts of the country, with Ngara emerging as a focal point.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports suggest that additional youths lost their lives while participating in the demonstrations.
