DP Rigathi Gachagua mourning death of his eldest sister

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is mourning the passing of his eldest sister, Leah Wangari Muriuki, who succumbed today after a prolonged illness.

Expressing his grief on Facebook, the Deputy President shared the heartbreaking news that has deeply affected their family.

“I am saddened to receive news of the passing of our eldest sister Leah Wangari Muriuki. Leah has been our mother and the matriarch of our family; she cared for the larger Gachagua Family after the loss of our father and our two mothers,” Mr. Gachagua wrote.

He continued, expressing the profound impact of her loss on their family: “We are devastated by the loss of this family pillar. My heartfelt condolences to her husband, children, and grandchildren.”

The Deputy President acknowledged the additional weight of this loss during a challenging week marked by nationwide demonstrations.

“This is an incredibly difficult week for me as a national leader and a family man. May the Lord bring healing to our nation and our families.”
