Detectives are probing a series of grisly killings reported in different parts of the country over the weekend, leaving families in mourning and communities in shock.
In Kendubay, Homa Bay County, another killing was reported on August 8, when Kennedy Odhiambo, 45, was found lying in a pool of blood outside his home.
His hands were fractured, and his body bore deep cuts on the leg. Investigators believe his house was broken into and ransacked before the fatal attack.
The motive remains unclear as the search for his killers continues.
In Mahanga, Vihiga County, 49-year-old Stanley Angose was discovered dead on Saturday morning with severe injuries to the head, elbow, and right arm.
Police say the attack occurred shortly after he left a funeral vigil. The assailants remain at large.
Authorities say such incidents underscore a worrying rise in violent crime, with up to eight murder cases being reported nationwide each day despite ongoing security operations.
Meanwhile, in Makadara, Nairobi County, tragedy struck when a man was hit and killed by a train at the Mutindwa Railway underpass.
Police report that the train, en route to Nairobi from Ruiru, struck the pedestrian as he walked along the railway line. The body was taken to the mortuary for further procedures.
Investigations into all the incidents are ongoing, with detectives vowing to track down those responsible for the wave of killings.
