KISII: Police have launched an investigation into a brazen act of vandalism at the Kisii County Assembly premises after unknown persons deflated the tires of multiple vehicles belonging to MCAs.
The mid-morning incident occurred while the legislators were inside the chambers conducting house business, leaving many stranded and questioning the security of the guarded facility.
One MCA, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Kondele that the vandalism was not random, but a calculated message from senior politicians.
“They are meant to threaten us into submission,” the MCA said. “It is all about our stance on supporting Dr. Fred Matiangi’s political bid.”
Kisii Central Sub-County Police Commander Musa Imamai expressed shock that such a breach could occur within a controlled area and has promised a swift investigation to apprehend the culprits.
