Migori Youth FC have been officially crowned champions of the National Super League (NSL) after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Equity Bank FC at a jam packed Awendo Green Stadium.

The win not only clinched the title but also delivered the club’s first ever promotion to the Kenyan Premier League (KPL), capping a season defined by resilience, redemption, and remarkable character.

Knowing that nothing less than a win would seal the championship, Migori Youth delivered a commanding performance in front of their roaring home supporters.

Vincent Wanga opened the scoring with a clinical finish, sending the stadium into early frenzy.

Equity Bank refused to roll over and mounted a strong fightback, leveling the pressure in the second half, however, Migori’s response was emphatic.

John Juma stepped up with a stunning strike to restore the lead and ultimately secure the victory, triggering unforgettable scenes of celebration across Awendo Green Stadium.

Migori County Governor Ochillo Ayacko was quick to congratulate the team, praising their determination throughout the campaign.

Migori Youth’s promotion push was nearly shattered when the FKF Appeals Committee docked them crucial points over a player eligibility dispute.

While many teams might have folded under such pressure, Migori Youth used the setback as motivation.

They responded by grinding out maximum points in their remaining matches and successfully challenged the decision at the Sports Disputes Tribunal.

Their character under fire turned what could have been a collapsing campaign into one of the most inspiring stories in recent Kenyan football.

As the final whistle blew in Awendo, those three hard earned points did more than win a single match they opened the doors to the promised land of Kenyan football.

After years of battling in the second tier, Migori Youth FC have finally earned their place among the country’s elite clubs in the Kenya Premier League.
