Police arrest suspect, recover stolen phone in Nairobi

Police in Nairobi have arrested one suspect and recovered a mobile phone allegedly stolen from a woman during a robbery in the Kawangware 56 area.

The incident occurred on Thursday, October 1, 2026, after officers from Muthangari Police Station responded to a report of a robbery involving two individuals who were riding a motorcycle.

According to police, the suspects accosted the woman and stole her mobile phone before fleeing on the motorcycle.

Officers launched an immediate pursuit and managed to intercept the motorcycle.

The pillion passenger was arrested, while the motorcycle rider escaped.

A subsequent search led to the recovery of the victim’s stolen phone and the motorcycle believed to have been used during the incident.

The suspect is being held at Muthangari Police Station and is expected to be arraigned in court to face the relevant charges.

The National Police Service commended the officers for their swift response and urged members of the public to continue providing timely information to the police to help combat crime.
