Former Deputy Governor Hamilton Orata takes over ODM chair position from Governor Wanga

Former Homa Bay Deputy Governor Dr. Hamilton Orata has been appointed as the acting chair of the ODM party for the county.

Dr. Orata, who previously served alongside Cyprian Awiti in two consecutive terms, will succeed Governor Gladys Wanga.

Wanga has been elevated to the national chair position, a role previously held by John Mbadi, who resigned to assume duties at the Ministry of Treasury and Economic Planning.

Dr Orata served as the county Deputy chair of the Orange party in Homa Bay County.

In a communication to the county offices, ODM Chief Executive Officer Oduor Ongwen announced Dr. Orata’s appointment. Dr. Orata will step into the role as the party prepares for upcoming grassroots elections.
