Kisumu Man Facing Defilement Case Dies by Suicide

Police in Kisumu County are investigating the tragic suicide of a 24-year-old man, Kennedy Otieno, whose body was found hanging in his room on Tuesday night.

A note left behind cited immense stress over a pending defilement case as the reason for his action.

In the letter, Otieno apologized to his wife, urging her not to worry but to understand his decision. He also listed seven family members’ contacts, requesting they be informed once his body was found.

Authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding his death while his body awaits a postmortem examination at St. Vincent Hospital Mortuary.
