Machakos police intercept motorcycle ferrying sacks of bhang

A major crackdown on local drug syndicates yielded success after police officers in Machakos Town intercepted a large consignment of cannabis sativa (bhang) hidden in a sack and repackaged for distribution.

The successful operation was heavily boosted by a tip-off from vigilant members of the public, exposing a rising trend of traffickers using motorcycles to move illicit substances through the town.

Acting swiftly on the community intelligence, a team from the Machakos County Headquarters ambushed the suspect within Machakos Town.

During the bust, officers intercepted a motorcycle that investigators believe was being used as a nimble courier tool to bypass traditional police checkpoints and swiftly distribute the narcotics across the estate.

Upon inspecting the suspect’s luggage, officers uncovered a massive stash of contraband prepared for the local market: one large green sack tightly packed with raw cannabis sativa, 30 separate carrier bags, already repackaged and ready for immediate supply to local peddlers and a motorcycle, which was immediately impounded by authorities as a key instrument of crime.

The suspect was arrested on the spot and booked at the Machakos Police Station, where they are currently being held pending a formal court arraignment as detectives finalize the case file.
