Cedrick Mike Otieno, the UDA National Youth leader and Kisumu Central parliamentary aspirant, today held a strategic meeting with various women groups in Migosi Ward to discuss sustainable economic empowerment strategies.
During his address, Cedrick emphasized the critical need for youth, women, and persons living with disabilities (PWDs) to form structured groups and register them formally with the government.
“When these groups are officially registered, it becomes much easier to lobby for resources and source funding from both the government and private avenues,” Cedrick stated.
The aspiring lawmaker shared his vision for a more inclusive local economy, noting that his primary goal is to see marginalized groups fully empowered to achieve self-reliance.

He further assured the groups that the current administration is actively working on financial and policy frameworks to lift up small-scale traders.
“The government, led by President William Ruto, is fully committed to creating an enabling environment to ensure small businesses and community-led enterprises thrive,” he added.
In response, the representatives from the women groups expressed their willingness to collaborate with the administration on grassroots development initiatives.
Cedrick’s engagement in Migosi is part of an ongoing tour of Kisumu Central Constituency as political activities pick up momentum ahead of the 2027 General Election.
