Harambee Stars striker Ryan Wesley Rabok Ogam has completed a dream move to Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC, a testament to a remarkable season that saw him transform from a promising midfielder into one of Kenya’s most lethal forwards.

Ogam’s journey to Europe was a rapid one. He joined Tusker FC at the beginning of last season from Rainbow FC, where he was a midfielder. Coach Charles Okere made a tactical gamble, converting the 21-year-old into a striker.

Ogam repaid that faith in spectacular fashion, netting an impressive 15 goals in just 17 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League appearances.

Even a serious injury in January that required surgery and sidelined him for three months couldn’t halt his rise.

He made a timely comeback in the final league match against Kakamega Homeboyz, playing 45 minutes to signal his full recovery just in time for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024.

It was at CHAN that Ogam truly announced himself on the continental stage. He scored decisive, match-winning goals against football giants Morocco and Zambia.

These standout performances not only reignited Kenya’s campaign but also captured the attention of European scouts, leading to his new contract.

A New Chapter in Europe

Wolfsberger AC President Dietmar Riegler expressed his excitement about the signing, calling Ogam a player with great potential.

Tusker FC Chairman Charles Gacheru praised Ogam’s character and commitment.

Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) Head of Mainstream Beer Christine Kariuki also congratulated Ogam on the move, noting the club’s proud role in nurturing football talent in the country.
