Faith Kemunto’s murder suspect arrested after one month search

NAIROBI: The prime suspect in the murder of Faith Kemunto has been arrested. Gidion Angisa, Faith’s boyfriend, was apprehended by DCI detectives in Nairobi’s Huruma estate after a month-long manhunt.

Faith, who was set to join Machakos University, disappeared on July 27, 2025, after leaving her Nyamira home to meet Angisa. Her family reported her missing when she failed to return.

The search for Faith ended tragically when a body, believed to be hers, was found buried in a shallow grave. Investigators exhumed the body after securing a court order.

Angisa was found with Faith’s mobile phone at the time of his arrest and has since been moved to Ekerenyo Police Station.

He is being held for 21 days as detectives from the DCI’s Homicide and Forensic departments continue their investigation.
