Police Probe Suspected Suicide in Kakamega County

BUTERE: Police in Kakamega County have launched investigations into a suspected suicide involving a 49-year-old man in Butere Sub-county.

The deceased, identified as Nabenya Anyanga, was found dead on Saturday evening at his home in Eshitiata Village, located in Shirembe Sub-location.

According to police reports, Anyanga’s body was discovered hanging from the roof rafters of his house at approximately 7:05 p.m.

The incident was reported to Butere Police Station by a relative, prompting officers to visit the scene. Authorities confirmed there were no visible physical injuries on the body, and no suicide note was found at the location.

The body was later moved to the Butere Morgue, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted to establish the exact cause of death.

Police say investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
